Amid the political dalliance between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga, the head of state has been cautioned to be very careful in their relationship.
While speaking in Mathira on Tuesday during the funeral of the mother of Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua, Soy lawmaker Caleb Kositany claimed that the ODM chief is an opportunist who is keen to reap from Jubilee Party misfortunes.
"If I were the President, I would have listened more to a member of Jubilee who was with me when I needed people to be with me rather than using Raila and ODM. ODM are still looking for the downfall of Jubilee for them to harvest from it and form government in 2022," said Kositany.
The lawmaker's comment comes at a time there seems to be full-blown chaos within the ruling party with Kandara MP Alice Wahome recently taking the President and Raila head-on.
According to Wahome, President Kenyatta is a threat to Kenya's democracy and the economy amid claims that he was keen to remain in power beyond 2022.
On the other side, Raila was accused of being the President's "political mercenary for hire" keen to aid Uhuru in his post-2022 political ambitions.
