President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Jubilee-led government seems set and ready to go the whole hog to ensure that the embattled exiled lawyer Miguna Miguna never sets foot in Kenya, at least during his administration that ends in 2022.

Miguna who is still stranded in Berlin, Germany, after his several attempts to catch a flight to Kenya hit a dead edge, has vowed to remain unfliched on his radical political views that seems to put him at odds with the government leading to his return-to-Kenya woes.

Speaking to Citizen TV's Jeff Koinange on Wednesday evening, the self-styled NRM general maintained that the State must obey the court orders as issued and unconditionally.

"If you speak the truth and somebody victimizes you because you speak the truth do not change, don’t water down your integrity. They are used to buying almost everyone that has been criticizing them, they bribe you with money like they did to Raila Odinga. Raila Odinga is muzzled, Raila Odinga is now singing hosanna to Uhuru Kenyatta," Miguna said from Berlin during the interview conducted via Skype.

He added: "The crystal-clear court order did not say I should go anywhere to apply for the passport, the court order said 'return his passport', they are supposed to comply."

That said, what are the wider consequences of Uhuru's government continued refusal of Miguna to return to Kenya where he is undeniably a citizen by birth?

1. Setting a bad precedence for the rule of law

The executive blatant disregard of several court orders allowing Miguna's unconditional return, is setting a bad precedence for the rule of law that stipulates that no one is above the law. But the executive has clearly demonstrated the opposite.

This, if allowed to go on unchallenged, makes it possible and justifiable for anybody else in Kenya to disregard court orders in future and allude to this incidence. The aftermath will be catastrophic as laws will only exist in text and not in practice.

2. Alienating Kenya on the global arena

It should not be lost on anyone that Miguna's refusal to enter Kenya has or will attract the attention of the international community.

Such an unnecessary attention has the potential of alienating Kenya on the global stage. Or who outside Kenya will trust the government on anything if it can't comply with its own domestic laws?

3. What goes around comes around

The law of Karma states that every action has an equal reaction, but in the opposite direction. Karma respects nobody! He serves you with what you deserve. If you live by the gun, by the same you shall die.

Uhuru and his flawed regime might dismiss their unlawful disregard of court orders as a small matter, but this will at one time sooner or later, come to work against them and the consequences might be dire as when Karma strikes, he leaves no stone unturned!
