Wajir Woman Representative Fatuma Gedi believes that Deputy President William Ruto will not be part of after 2022 polls.
Dr Ruto has been traversing the country, popularising his bid ahead of the polls, often targeting regions that have traditionally voted for Raila Odinga.
Among those regions include Western Kenya, Coast, Nairobi and parts of Gusi. He has also zoned certain regions like Luo Nyanza as hostile thus will not give much energy in them.
While addressing residents of Garissa on Friday, Mrs Gedi insisted that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga will form government in 2022.
Ms Fatuma Gedi, who was hosting the 30-odd women leaders, told locals that political ground has shifted and they should not be swayed into the opposition.
“We must open our eyes. We cannot afford to be in the opposition, let us unite under Uhuru and Raila,” she said
Her Homa Bay counterpart Gladys Wanga said that the handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga has brought about relative peace in Kenya.
“The country is now calm because of the handshake. President Kenyatta and Raila should be supported by all Kenyans,” Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga said at Garissa Primary School.
She said the handshake bore the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) whose report they asked Kenyans to support when it is made public.
“When the BBI team makes public its report, let us all support it as it will address most of the problems bedeviling the country. Forget Punguza Mizigo. Reject that one,” she said.
