On his success, Buluma said that he attributes his good grades to hard work, commitment and prayers. He said that he had to burn the midnight oil to make his dreams come true. He also said that he knew he would perform well but never imagined that he would emerge as the best candidate in the entire nation.

"I spent my time at Kapsabet Boys reading hard. I also interacted well will my fellow students and teachers," he said.

He took the opportunity to thank his teachers, friends, parents, and relatives for the support they accorded him when he was still in school and promised to continue making them proud as he moves to the next level in life.

Buluma joined Kapsabet Boys after scoring 433 marks in Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) in 2015. His parents and teachers could not hide their excitement after the release of the results.
