ODM Party Leader Raila Amolo Odinga has asked leaders to listen to the will of the people. Speaking during an interview with NTV on Sunday, Raila said that leadership is an imposition. The Former Prime Minister argued that the people must give you a green light before you can become their leader, adding that the voice of the people is critical when it comes to matters of governance. He argued that people and leaders need to speak in one voice if they want to achieve their desires at the end of the day.

"You cannot force yourself to leadership...if the people don’t want you they will kick you out," he said.

He also said that he is comfortable with the fact that he has played his role when it comes to leadership, adding that he does not regret his political past because he lived up to the expectations of the electorate during the time he served in different capacities in government.

"I feel I have made major contributions to the reforms of this country," he said.

During the same interview, Raila said that he has not shown interest in any of the seats in government including Presidency, adding that he is committed to uniting the nation following his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
