Senate Minority Leader James Orengo on Thursday played host to Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga, and his wife Ida Odinga.
Orengo and his wife Betty Murungi ushered in their guests at their Ugenya home, few miles from Bondo in Siaya.
The two lawyers took their guests around the home, before having a close-door meeting that was also attended by a few local leaders.
"Betty and I are pleased to host Raila Odinga, mama Ida Odinga and other guests at our home in Ugenya this afternoon. Thank you!" Orengo wrote.
The four have been in struggle for a democratic Kenya, with their relationship dating back to 1970s. Ida and Raila were at the time teachers.
Odinga taught at the University of Nairobi, while Ida was at Kenya High.
On the contrary, Orengo and Betty were in UoN law school. Betty is sister to Meru Governor Kiraitu Murungi.
Earlier, Raila had endorsed BBI report, accusing his opponents of derailing reforms in Kenya.
“The people who are opposing us are responsible for what is happening in the country,” said Raila.
The ODM leader spoke as a host of leaders who had accompanied him also rallied Kenyans to back the Building Bridges Initiative.
Senator Orengo said it was time the country polished its Constitution.
“The spirit of the Building Bridges Initiative is to reconcile Kenyans and next year we will have a proper debate on BBI,” said Orengo.
