Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei was on Tuesday arrested by detectives at his Elgon view residence in Eldoret town.

He was thereafter taken to Eldoret Central police station where he was interrogated for over 3 hours.

Cherargei was transferred to Kisumu where he will be facing charges over the utterances he made during a funeral in his county over the weekend.

Police officers in Eldoret did not speak to the press concerning the legislators' arrest.
