Haji on Friday announced that the task force has secured a date with President Uhuru Kenyatta and will be handing over the complete document of suggestions to him on Tuesday.

With some politicians questioning the procedure that was used to collect the views, in line with the team's job to propose remedies to the nation's leadership issues, he said that the task force has done a good and thorough job.

He said that they got opinions from at least 7,000 Kenyans, among them 400 elected and former political leaders.

Further, 123 institution representatives, both governmental and private also gave their opinions, adding that 755 handwritten submissions from Kenyans were also received.

Haji said that 260 emails and memoranda were also received and considered during the compiling of the final document, which was announced ready weeks ago.

The Garissa Senator also noted its clear that Kenyans need some sort of changes, urging politicians to desist from making remarks that could cause confusion among Kenyans.

"The misleading reports are coming at a time when there is a strong national consensus on the need for cohesion, honesty and ambition to change our country for the better," he said during a presser at a Nairobi hotel.

Similar remarks were made by Uhuru at the Kibabii University in Bungoma, where he urged politicians to wait for the opening of the document before starting to criticize it.

"Let's appreciate that we have divergent views but our objective is to make our mother land better and improve it. I don't know what to tell those who say they don't want this process yet they have not read the content of the report," said the Head of State.

Already, the political class is divided for and against the document, with supporters of Uhuru and ODM leader Raila Odinga, with whom he founded the BBI initiative, backing it.

On the other hand, allies of Deputy President William Ruto and some Mt Kenya politicians have vowed to reject it if it makes some specific suggestions.
