Tottenham Hotspurs signed Ndombele from Ligue 1 Olympique Lyonnais famously known as 'Lyon' for a club record of 60 million euros (about Ksh7 billion).

BBC reports that the 22-year-old midfielder has signed a deal until 2025 and the fee could rise to 70m euros (about Ksh8.1 billion) with incentives.

"We are delighted to announce the signing of Tanguy Ndombele from Olympique Lyonnais.  The France international central midfielder has signed a contract with the Club until 2025," Tottenham tweeted.

The new signing career success speaks in bold. Ndombele has six caps with the France national team. He played for his former club Lyon 96 times and managed to register 16 assists.

Ndombele's signing puts Wanyama's stay at Tottenham in question. Apparently, Ndombele plays as a defensive midfielder, the same natural position for the Kenyan captain Wanyama.

Considering that Tottenham have spent a huge amount of money on the new signing, not utilizing the new signing will be an option for the head coach.

Club manager Mauricio Pochettino would have considered important tactical plans with Ndombele to push the club for a record signing.

Club fans have also shown their love for the new signing. Recently, they attacked the club for congratulating Wanyama on social media after Kenya victory against Tanzania on grounds that it was not necessary. What the fans wanted was to see Ndombele signed.
