Newly appointed ICT Chief Administrative Secretary Nadia Abdalla on Thursday explained how she was shocked over her appointment to Cabinet.
President Uhuru Kenyatta reorganised his Cabinet on Tuesday, bringing in a number of youths after years of complaints.
Abdalla, who was having her meal, says she literally abandoned it when she learnt about the appointment.
"I was having my bhajia when a friend called me telling me President Kenyatta had mentioned my name while announcing the Cabinet reshuffle. I contacted someone who started by asking for my full names and went on to confirm I had been given this privileged position. I lost my appetite immediately," she said.
Abdalla who holds an MA in International Relations stated that she has been championing for the empowerment of youth and had invested her time in training them on public speaking.
“As youth we need to articulate our issues better. Most of us struggle to put our points across yet this is one of the most fundamental life skills,” she remarked.
The youthful CAS from the coast participated in Uhuru's debut show.
Also appointed during the changes was Zack Kinuthia, the former University of Nairobi Student leader. He will be in education docket.
