Keroche Heiress Anerlisa Muigai has written an emotional letter to President Uhuru Kenyatta after the arrest of her parents in the Sh14.4 billion tax evasion scandal.
In the letter posted on her Instagram page, the beauty has pleaded with Uhuru to intervene because she believes that local entrepreneurs are being targetted and harassed.
Anerlisa expressed her sincere belief that the President has the power to protect local entrepreneurs.
"Dear Our President (Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta) I am writing in regards to our local entrepreneurs. I am humbly requesting you to intervene and help/protect us all in businesses. We chose you as our President. Everyday our local entrepreneurs are being fought. We trust and believe that you will do something about it. Thank You. #BuyKenya #BuildKenya #Regards Anerlisa Muigai," said Anerlisa.
The Director of Public Prosecutions Nordin Hajji ordered for the arrest the directors Keroiche Breweries - Tabitha Karanja and her husband Joseph Muigai - over 10 counts of tax evasion.
He alleged that the company has evaded paying taxes since 2015.
In a rejoinder, the Keroche CEO complained that she was being targeted by her competitors given that she recently launched KB Lager into the market.
“I’m shocked by the new allegations levelled against me, my husband and Keroche Breweries and this is pure malice…This is a vendetta war launched by my competitors and am ready to face the taxman and the DPP to prove my innocence,” she said.
