The tough and no nonsense Cabinet Secretary for education has once again hit on Kenyans urging them to shun the habit of heaping glories to corrupt individuals who are stealing money belonging to the public. Prof Magoha pointed out that the issue of tolerating the plunders was the reason behind the problems which faced the nation.

"Someone steals money, which you very well know, buys a car with the same money but then becomes your ruler. Another person struggles to make ends meet by selling maize and owns a bicycle, yet he is not recognized. It is the high time we learn to respect people for who they are but not what they own," said the CS.

Magoha also called upon public executives to use public funds in the right ways. "Instead of a chopper, you can use road and save money which can be used by somebody else who is also in need of it," he added. The public were also not left out with an urge by the CS for satisfaction by what they had.

Prof Magoha spoke this on Saturday at Chemelil Academy in Kisumu during cheques' issuance to secondary and university goers by Muhoroni M.P Hon. Onyango Oloo. Magoha called upon the learners to consider courses they chose at Technical and Vocational Training Institutions (TVET) due to higher demand for professionals from such institutions.

"There are many who feel like failures in life since they went to sub-county schools. You own power over your life, hence upon you to decide what to do with it," said prof. Magoha.
