He also said that those spreading the rumors are malicious and ill-motivated. The county boss had reportedly suffered mild stroke before he came out to dispel the gossip on social media and other platforms of communication.

“I am well and in my residence now. Neither do I have a mild stroke & nobody should wish this on me or anyone. Ignore media misinformation,” said the governor in a tweet.

The Council of Governors (CoG) also dismissed the claims on social media. It said that Nanok was in a stable condition and discharging his duties as elected by his people.

“Let us ignore the FAKE NEWS about His Excellency Governor Josphat Nanok. He is well and is currently at his home having dinner with his family,” said CoG in a tweet.

The reports come at a time when the nation is mourning Bomet Governor Joyce Laboso and Kibra MP Ken Okoth who both succumbed to cancer. Leaders and the general public want cancer declared national disaster.
