Award-winning gospel musician Esther Wahome is in mourning following the demise of her father, William Wahome Gikonyo.
The late, who was a preacher, passed away on Saturday after battling cancer for quite some time.
Taking to social media to report the sad news, Esther said her father had been battling the deadly disease for the whole of this year but noted he never complained despite the intense pain.
The veteran artist eulogised the deceased as her mentor and friend who taught her many things, among them music and spiritual matters.
"My dad, my mentor, my spiritual cover, my prophet, my friend, my greatest fan, my cheerleader. Today is the second day since you were transferred to heaven, and though I know you are in a better place, the pain is unbearable," she posted on Instagram on Sunday.
"You taught me the word, you taught me to be a prayer warrior, you made me understand my kingdom mandate, you taught me music, you taught me how to proclaim and possess all that is my portion, you taught me how to pull down strongholds, you taught me how to take charge! You taught me resilience, you taught me kingdom mysteries, you raised a kingdom giant in me!" added the 'Kuna Dawa' hitmaker.
Esther Wahome revealed that she was with her father when he took his last breath and vividly recalled his final words.
"I am grateful to have spoken to you in your last minute, to have been there holding you, and to have had you pass on a mantle to me, before you crossed over. Rest in Paradise great revivalist," she posted.
