For the last couple of months, a sections of leaders from Kisii and Nyamira Counties, have been pushing for endorsement of Dr Matiang'i as President Uhuru Kenyatta's successor.

On Friday, Nyanza leaders led by Governors John Nyagarama and James Ongwae, said Matiang'i had come of age to take over the country's top leadership.

But at Nyamira on Sunday, Osoro dismissed proposals to have Matiang'i contesting, arguing that ODM leader Raila Odinga cannot swallow his ambitions for Matiang'i.

"They (John Mbadi) were saying that they will consider Omogusii for a seat. Raila's father Oginga wanted to be president desperately. His son (Raila), has tried four times. He really wants to be president.

"Do you think he can endorse someone who has never contested? That's impossible. Stop wasting time and be contented with what up already have," Osoro said in remarks that could bring controversy again.

According to the first term MP, Abagusii community should consider bargaining for power at Dr William Ruto's camp, adding that he's at pole position to be president.

Others who backed Osoro's statements were Joash Nyamoko, Vincent Kemosi, Shadrack Mose, Alfa Miruka, Joash Maangi and a host of Tanga Tanga allied MCAs.

Senator Okong'o Mogeni of Nyamira has been spearheading calls to have Abagusii community back Dr Fred Matiang'i for president in 2022 polls.
