Speaking in Vihiga on Saturday, Mudavadi claimed his Ford Kenya counterpart Moses Wetangula had also been sidelined in planning the event.

"My brother Wetangula and I have not received an invitation to the January 18th Bukhungu meeting. Someone decided to invite us through social media," he said.

"We need to be respected and this matter treated with the seriousness it deserves," he added.

The January 18 meeting will be the second BBI forum, after the Nyanza edition took part in Kisii on Friday, bringing together leaders from all the 6 Nyanza counties.

Mudavadi said as a leader, he will not allow himself to be pushed into supporting BBI, adding that he will only make a decision after taking a deep check into the campaign.

Earlier on, Mudavadi had claimed the forum whose planning is led by Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli, is meant to fight him.

"That so-called drive has got nothing to do with unity but it is a cologned ODM party affair. At least Siaya Senator James Orengo has the political maturity and courage to admit as much," he claimed.

However, ODM has since distanced itself from the planned meeting.
