Outa on Wednesday accused the county boss of poor leadership, terming him sluggish in fulfilling his 2017 campaign promises, an election where he rode on the senator's backing.

Outa claimed that some of the promised initiatives are yet to be undertaken, including the relocation of the Kachok dump site to another place, almost three years down the line.

"The Kachok dumpsite is one of the projects that the governor promised to handle in his first 100 days in office. Two years down the line and we are still on the dumpsite," he is quoted by the Standard.

He had made the remarks in an interview in one of the local radio stations.

The lawmaker who has since declared interest in battling Nyongo in the 2022 polls also accused the governor of blacklisting him on matters development, and has not been consulting him.

He further bashed the county boss for spending most of his working hours outside the country, also opposing alleged county plans to spend Sh18 million to buy Nyongo a new vehicle.

However, in response, the governor through his spokesman Alloyce Ager termed the allegations falseful, saying that the governor has always been open for consultations.

He also faulted Outa's claims that the county overpriced the guzzler, challenging the Senator to provide proof to the allegations.

Instead, he advised him to concentrate on serving Kisumu residents in his constitutional capacity as an oversight authority.

Ager also accused the Senator of inciting the local assembly against the executive, especially on controversial county budget estimates.

He added that Outa, formerly the Nyando Member of Parliament, should be in the Senate carrying out his mandate and not making baseless remarks in funerals.

"He should be in the Senate addressing matters affecting the county rather than speaking at funerals on matters he is not sure of," said Ager.

Ager added that removal of garbage at Kachok is almost complete, contrary to Outa's claims.

Both leaders are in office on the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket.
