This comes amid complaints from a section of politicians that representatives of prominent political families, dubbed 'dynasties' are out to block Deputy President William Ruto from realising his presidential ambitions.

The narrative which is being perpetuated by forces allied to Ruto, who has branded himself a hustler owing to his alleged humble background, has isolated four of the nation's leading politicians as the persons behind the plot.

However, speaking on Monday morning, Oluoch noted that there is nothing like dynasty leadership in Kenya, owing to the fact that power is only handed over after an election, unlike in dynasties where it is inherited.

"Dynasty is a very smooth way of handing over leadership from one person to the other," said the close ally of former Prime Minister leader Raila Odinga, one of the said dynasties and son to founding Vice President Oginga Odinga.

He made the remarks on Citizen TV's Day Break show.

The lawmaker said that there is nothing like dynasties in Kenya since there is no leader who inherited the leadership from their parents so far.

He added that though there emerges political families whose founders served in previous governments, there is nothing preventing fresh names from taking over the leadership of Kenya.

"I think it is possible for other Kenyans to ascend to presidency. Jomo Kenyatta was not in any form from a dynasty when he became president, Moi certainly was not and we did not even know Mwai Kibaki’s father. The question of dynasties is misplaced," added the parliamentarian.

He also said that part of the dynasties is President Uhuru Kenyatta, Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Amani National Congress (ANC) boss Musalia Mudavadi.
