Murkomen is among members of the Jubilee Party who have questioned the intentions of the BBI, its task force and its report which is yet to be released.

The legislator on Tuesday questioned the constitutional basis on which President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga formed the BBI, saying that it violates the constitution.

The lawmaker also argued that the formation excluded Kenyans, which should not be the case, adding that it is shrouded in secrecy, leading to confusion as people try to guess its outcome.

“The BBI has been run in complete violation of our constitution in the sense that it’s never been a process that involves the people, it has no accountability, everybody is doing guesswork," he said during an interview on Citizen TV.

He stated that though the BBI is a product of the Uhuru-Raila 2018 handshake, the two are being sold differently, and BBI is coming out as more of an individual agenda than the national agenda it is supposed to be.

He stressed on the need for the persons behind it to make it open to avoid confusing Kenyans on its intention, at a time when Uhuru and Raila are expected to receive the BBI taskforce report.

"If this process is about the people and not a hidden agenda, then it should be as open as possible," he added.
