A poor boy from Kibra constituency who scored 400 marks in the 2019 Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) has finally secured help to pursue his secondary education.
This was revealed by Kibra Member of Parliament Bernard Imran Okoth on his Twitter feed on Friday.
The MP said that the boy called Ronald Ouma was among the successful interviewees for the Kibra National Government Constituency Development Fund (CDF).
It was not immediately clear from the MP's post on Twitter whether the boy would have his school fees taken care of for the duration of his 4-year secondary studies.
"Ronald Ouma who scored 400 marks in the 2019 KCPE exam was interviewed for the Kibra NG-CDF Scholarship Fund. He was successful and will be joining Maranda High School as a beneficiary of the fund, " the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) lawmaker said.
Ronald Ouma's case was aired on one of the local mainstream television stations.
Over the weekend pupils from poor backgrounds, who managed to score 350 marks and above, gathered at DC Grounds in Kibra for interviews for the constituency's NG-CDF scholarship.
Imran Okoth ran for the parliamentary position with the pledge to ensure that bright students with no means access funds to further their studies.
