Siaya Senator James Orengo has revived his initial attacks on Deputy President William Ruto, months after he claimed that a plot was in place to impeach him.

Speaking on Saturday, the renowned lawyer appeared to poke holes into the DP's political ambitions, where he has made it clear that he will be vying for the presidency in 2022.

Speaking in Kunya in Rarieda, Siaya county, he referred to the DP as "a fence sitter who cannot be entrusted with the nation's leadership".

The lawmakwr made the remarks in reference to the DP's lukewarmness on the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI), where he appears unwilling to declare whether he will be backing or rejecting it.

Orengo told the DP to declare his stand, while accusing him of deploying some politicians, who have been speaking against the initiative, to oppose the BBI.

"Ruto must declare his stand on the BBI. Those he has lined up to oppose the document must also give us the alternative they're proposing. Let them put their proposal on the table" he said.

He spoke during the burial of Mama Loice Anyango Oneko, widow of freedom fighter the late Achieng Oneko.

His remarks were echoed by area MP Otiende Amollo, who said that the BBI, which was founded by President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM boss Raila Odinga, will bring law changes.

He dared Ruto and his allies to pack and leave if not in support of the BBI, accusing the DP of contradicting the Head of State, who has since declared his full support for BBI.

According to Amollo, nobody cab stop the BBI apart from Raila and Uhuru who founded it.

"There is no turning back on the push for reforms, which we know will be ushered in through the BBI initiative. We will only listen to Raila and Uhuru, nobody else,” he said.

After months of being viewed as a barrier, the DP last month came out to oppose the allegations, though his allies have still been questioning it's intentions.
