Interior Cabinet Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i has appealed to politicians to respect the church.
Speaking on Saturday at Mekonge SDA church in Sensi ward, Kitutu Chache North in Kisii County, the Interior CS urged politicians to keep off politics in the church.
"The church is where we go to worship and repent but, not a platform for politicking. Politicians going to churches to politic must not be given chances to address faithfuls," noted Matiang'i.
Matiang'i called upon Nyamira and Kisii politicians to embrace peace and lead as role models to the people.
He reiterated his commitment to ensuring divisive politicians are dealt with accordingly and mercilessly.
"I will not tolerate people inciting our people to cause disorder. Hate mongers must face the full force of the law," he added.
The CS challenged members of the Gusii community to ignore politicians who are out to seek political mileage through spreading propaganda about other leaders.
Matiang'i was accompanied by Kisii Governor James Ongwae, Kisii Deputy Governor Joash Maangi, area MP Jimmy Angwenyi and Kitutu Chache South MP Richard Onyonka among other leaders.
