Through a series of live videos he shared on Tuesday, the Bongo Star paid over $21,000, an equivalent of over Sh2 million to acquire genuine Diamond Jewellery.

He was seen in a jewellery shop in New York where he was using a particular device that could reveal whether chains were fake or genuine.

Last month, Diamond shocked his fans across East Africa after revealing that he was not using purely original jewellery.

Diamond who is a big fan of Diamond Jewellery is rarely seen without a single chain on either his hands, fingers, legs or around the neck.

However, in an interview with Bongo Five, 'Kanyaga' hitmaker said that sometimes he is forced to use fake chains.

Diamond said that he faces a hard time acquiring genuine chains in his home country, Tanzania, which was the main reason why he ended up mixing fake and original chains.

"Sometimes you can mix. You can buy and own original chains but sometimes you cannot manage to go for new fashions that have not been imported into the country, so you can come across something not original but good, you put it on, you mix. We cannot say everything is new, we put them on, but mostly my chains are original because I travel a lot. (Hamna, mi nishawacha chain fake..sometimes you can mix. Unajua vitu original sometimes unanunua unakua navyo lakini kuna fashion mpya inaingia na huwezi kuwai kwenda kunua nje. So unaeza kutana na kitu ambacho si original sana lakini ki kizuri, unavaa, unachanganya. Hatuwezi kujifanya kama eti vyote vipya, unavaa, lakini vingi navaa original sababu nasafiri sana.)," Diamond said last month.

The new jewellery might mean Diamond will fully stick to genuine chains considering the brands he carries.
