Embakasi West MP George Theuri celebrated the new year with some residents of his constituency at an NG-CDF funded swimming pool in Umoja 1 ward.
In a post on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, the legislator expressed his joy over the manner in which the new year, 2020 began.
Theuri was gratified with a large turn out of locals who came to enjoy themselves at the recreational facility which is located in Umoja 1 primary school.
The Jubilee lawmaker who is also a close ally to Deputy President William Ruto said the swimming pool was funded through the Embakasi West National Government Constituency Development Fund (NG-CDF).
He further called on parents not to worry any more over where to take their children for swimming after the new recreational facility became fully functional.
"I thank God the year 2020 imeanza na style ..... looking at the number of people that appreciate our one and only NGCDF public swimming pool in Umoja 1 primary school. Parents don't have to go far for their children to enjoy Swimming," noted Theuri in the post.
Every Member of the National Assembly (MP) except Women Reps receives over Sh100 million annually under the National Government Constituencies Development Fund (NG-CDF) to be used to finance development projects in their respective constituencies.
