An MP from Kisii has slammed Kisii Governor James Ongwae over plans to relocate Ogembo Law courts to Etago.
Bomachoge Chache MP Alpha Miruka protested Ongwae's plans saying he (Miruka) will not accept the relocation of the Ogembo Law courts.
"The county government should look for land in Ogembo to expand the market. Relocating Ogembo law courts to Etago on grounds that the market will be expanded won't be acceptable. I will mobilize leaders and locals to oppose Ongwae's plans," the MP said on Wednesday as reported by Egesa FM.
The vocal lawmaker maintained that the Ogembo law courts must remain at the current location for residents to continue accessing services.
He said Ongwae will have no peace whatsoever should he attempt to relocate the courts.
"Let Ongwae's administration first improve the state of the market before thinking of expansion. There is no way he can expand a market which is already in a bad state. Ogembo law courts won't go nowhere," he added.
The MP said members of the public must be given an opportunity to give views on the planned relocation of the Ogembo law courts failure to which it won't be business as usual.
