Patmos Montessori School, a little-known private school in Uthiru, Kikuyu sub-county, is slowly taking Kiambu County by storm with outstanding performances in the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) exams.

The top candidate in the school Abigael Nyambura scored a total of 425 marks out of 500, while the second pupil Jason Mugo scored 424 marks. The two are among the top-performing pupils in the entire county.

Teachers, parents and pupils at the school broke into wild celebrations in Uthiru area a day after the 2018 KCPE results were released by Education Cabinet Secretary Amb Amina Mohamed.

Addressing journalists at the school compound, the school director Catherine Maina credited the outstanding performance to God, parents, teachers and pupils. 

Maina said their persistent prayers and hard work were rewarded through good performance. 

"I would like to thank the teachers, parents and pupils for their hard work throughout the year. I also welcome those who intend to join the school to attend the ongoing interviews," said Maina.

In last year's KCPE exams, the top candidate at the school Ziar Diana scored a total of 427 marks out of 500 marks. 

Maina further noted she is proud Patmos Montessori School is slowly finding its position among the top performing private schools nationally. 

The school director revealed that their target in the 2019 KCPE exams is to produce the top pupil countrywide.
