Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen has yet again hit at opposition leader Raila Odinga, claiming that he's unfit to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022.
In the recent past, the Elgeyo-Marakwet senator has often accused Mr Odinga of causing chaos within Jubilee administration, following his handshake with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
At Kesses on Friday, Murkomen insisted that Kenyans will be forced to chose between a development conscious leader (William Ruto) and a man full of riddles and rhetoric (Raila Odinga).
According to him, already Kenyans know Deputy President William Ruto will be able to move the country to a right development track if he takes over.
"As Jubilee, we want to chose someone who will take over from Uhuru Kenyatta and we shall not chose someone because he comes from a certain tribe. We shall look at someone's track record.
"We all know the leader with track record and when that time comes, we shall already know the suitable person. You already know that person. It's easy to tell that someone is a performer and the other one dwells on riddles and rhetoric," he said.
The second term legislator said Mr Odinga should only be confined to entertaining Kenyans through his synonymous vitendawili (riddles), arguing that he fits perfectly there.
His remarks comes a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta seemed to slam his deputy William Ruto, after he said that he's least interested in 2022 succession politics.
“Uchaguzi utakuja na Mungu ndiye hupeana uongozi. Tufanye kazi (God knows who will be elected. It is time to work),” he said.
While Murkomen insists the Mr Odinga will be on ballot, the former Prime Minister has often dismissed such claims, insisting that he's only been to help Uhuru deliver.
