A number of leaders from the region, majority of the MPs allied to Deputy President William Ruto, have repeatedly been attacking and criticizing the head of state over numerous claims.

Speaking at Ihura Stadium on Monday, the county boss stated that those who insist on abusing Uhuru after the warning will be properly dealt with politically and must be cautious.

"I have said, I'm raising a caution and warning if you: Abuse him, then my people and I we will abuse you politically and we shall deal with you. So people must now watch their mouths," he said, according to the Star.

Wa Iria remarked that area leaders must observe political hygiene and leave the president out of their tirades.

The governor suggested that being on his last term, he is not interested in impressing anyone in the region, and will therefore not condone any more attacks on Uhuru.

He added that while the leaders can raise the issues they have been raising, they have to ensure that it doesn't include attacking Uhuru.

"Do it, but leave the president out and if you try it, if you want to try, try tomorrow because there are people who think they are everything and I'm not looking at friendship here. I'm looking at the institution of the president. If I don't allow myself to be abused, how on earth can I allow the head of state to be treated that way," he added.

Among leaders who have been criticizing Uhuru are Kandara MP Alice Wahome and her Kiharu counterpart Ndindi Nyoro, who have been questioning Uhuru's political moves.

For instance, Wahome has accused Uhuru of running down the economy, with Nyoro openly defying Uhuru's anti-politicking order and endorsing Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
