Garissa Township MP Aden Duale has dismissed allegations of threatening Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua last week.
Mutua on Monday claimed; Duale, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen and Deputy President William Ruto, threatened him with unspecified consequences over his stand on the fight against corruption.
The Governor, who recorded a statement at Kilimani Police Station, said he received the threats from the trio during a function at the State House on December 11.
However, Duale has come out to defend himself, saying the claims were 'fictitious' and accusing Mutua of seeking attention by making the serious allegations.
"Governor Alfred Mutua is at it again seeking attention with the most fictitious allegations that can only fit in his failed Cobra Squad TV show," said the National Assembly Majority Leader.
"You will not gain relevance by shouting the names of leaders who have achieved more than you can ever do. Focus on Machakos, Mutua," he added.
The Maendeleo Chap Chap party leader claimed Duale threatened to deal with him for attacking Ruto and also deal with 50,000 Kambas living in Garissa.
The MP blasted the Governor over the claims, saying he was out to revive his diminishing political career and looking for validation.
"The truth is, attention seekers are looking for validation. They want to know they are worthy. You can’t use our names to increase your dwindling political shares in the village. We play a different league. Wacha vindiyo, cinema na vipenderee," Duale said.
