Speaking on Wednesday, Junet said that given that Ruto has failed to obey his boss and is now trying to frustrate him, the DP should publicly admit that he no longer wants to work with Uhuru.

He said that in such a case, the DP should do the necessary by resigning from his office, which he (Junet) said his party leader Raila Odinga would have done in such a situation.

He faulted the DP for allegedly turning against Uhuru, stating that if there are issues, he should resign and battle him in a constitutional race rather than engaging in sabotage.

"If it was Raila Odinga and us, we should have resigned a long time from the government. We would not have done these kinds of things. We would tell the president now we are done, we are not seeing things the same way we will meet another day, we will just meet at the ballot," he said in an interview on Pointblank.

He observed that so keen is Ruto on frustrating  Uhuru that he is now turning his own people against him, and using then to spread his agenda while embarrassing the president.

The National Assembly Minority Whip also accused Ruto of openly opposing Uhuru's ideologies, using state officials appointed by the President, which he termed undemocratic.

"You cannot have your cake and eat it (sic). A Cabinet Minister, appointed by the president is holding a meeting of a faction of government who are perceived to be opposed to the president. It's unacceptable, it's undemocratic," he added.

He was most likely referring to Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mwangi Kiunjuri, who last week led a group of Ruto allies for a meeting at the Mountain Breeze Hotel in Embu Town.

Its the same group that has defied Uhuru's directive against early campaigns, proceeding to openly endorse Ruto's 2022 presidential bid.
