The Teachers Service Commission (TSC) has withdrawn all government teachers from Ndooni primary school in Kitui county after a female teacher was attacked and burned to death beyond recognition.
According to Daily Nation, the teacher Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka was taking her children to school on Monday morning when she was ambushed by angry parents.
TSC Chief Executive Officer Nancy Macharia said they had withdrawn six teachers from the school until further notice.
“The Commission has with immediate effect withdrawn the six TSC teachers who have been working at the school,” she said in a statement signed by the director of administration, quoted by Daily Nation
Mrs Macharia added that the commission will only deploy teachers to the school if the security will be beefed up.
“The commission wishes to inform the public that it takes the safety of teachers seriously, further the commission will not hesitate to take necessary measures including petitioning for the closure of institutions where the security of teachers is at risk,” she added.
Daisy Mbathe Mbaluka was attacked by the said angry parents over what is believed to be last year's KCPE poor performance.
