Renowned lawyer and socio-political commentator Donald Kipkorir has launched an attack on Al Saud, Saudi Arabia's ruling family.
In a series of barbed tweets on Saturday night, Kipkorir appeared to blame the Al Saud for the raging chaos rocking the Middle East.
He held the view that the family was responsible for the spread of Wahhabism, a fundamentalist form of Islam, that a number of terrorist organisations profess.
Kipkorir claimed the Shia Muslims in the troubled region were facing an existential threat thanks to the ruling family.
"Saudi Arabia through its extremist Wahhabism/Salafist ideology founded Taliban and al Qaeda and funded 9/11 terrorists ..... Now, they have purchased White House ... It paints Iran as a terrorist state when Saudi Arabia is the only terrorist state. The world needs to be truthful," Kipkorir said.
"Shia Muslims face existential threat from al Saud family ... Once they lose their claim as custodians of the Two Holy Mosques (Khādim al-Ḥaramayn aš-Šarīfayn)), the al Saud family is nothing but religious fraudsters. The Sayyid, who are Shiites will expose them and KSA knows," he added.
The Al Saud family received bad publicity last year, following the brutal murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashogji by Saudi mercenaries alleged to have been dispatched by Prince Mohamed Bin Salman, the next in line to the throne.
In spite of all the controversy surrounding the columnist's death, the United States of America continues to have cordial diplomatic ties with the Al Saud.
