Three suspects have been arrested in Kasarani in connection with car theft.
The suspects, who were reportedly terrorising residents of Kasarani and Roysambu, have been on the run for some time before they were arrested.
Confirming the incident, Area OCPD Peter Kimani said that the arrest of the three is a major breakthrough in the quest to end crime in the area.
The police arrested the gang leader, who was later identified as Stephen Njoroge Njihia, after they traced them for a long tie.
The other suspects arrested in connection with engaging in the illegal business are Francis Kinyanjui and Gladys Wanjiku and Francis Kinyanjui.
"Three people have been arrested at West View Plaza-Kahawa West, on Allegations of stealing M/Vehicles from the Public after stupefying ‘em during drinking in Clubs. They are: 53yo Francis Kinyanjui, 36yo Gladys Wanjiku & 33yo Stephen Njoroge. All in custody; to be arraigned on Monday," DCI tweeted.
The police grilled the suspects for some time as they seek to uncover the car theft syndicate before transferring them to at Kasarani Police Station where they are currently being health for better service delivery.
Area DCIO Mwenda Meme said that they have been receiving endless complaints from the residents of Kasarani, Garden Estate and Kahawa West.
The detectives also recovered a stolen Sim Cards A fourth suspect linked to the matter is yet to be arrested amid a crackdown.
Police have asked residents to remain vigilant in the war against crime as they put in place different measures of curbing crime.
