President Uhuru Kenyatta has joined other leaders in condoling with the family of the late Lina Milly Leseeto, wife to the Deputy Governor of Samburu County Julius Leseeto.
The head of state said that the demise of the DG's is a great blow not only to the family but also the entire nation.
He described the deceased as a pillar of strength and woman of substance who left a mark in the community during her lifetime.
The head of state noted that the deceased shaped the lives of many people during her days.
“Mrs Leseeto’s death leaves a huge vacuum among us that will be hard to fill. Evidently, she lived a life of single-minded service to both her family and the community," he said in a Facebook post.
He added: "As a teacher, she touched the lives of many people in more ways than one. To them, I know they have lost a great leader, mother and a wonderful companion."
Uhuru also assured the family that the government will stand with it during this moment of trial.
Deputy President William Ruto is among the leaders who have also mourned the deceased after the announcement of the sad news to the nation.
"My heartfelt condolences to Samburu Deputy Governor Julius Leseeto on the loss of your wife. You have lost the pillar of your home and community, a source of love, strength and happiness. May the Lord grant you the grace and comfort to bear this grief." DP Ruto wrote on Twitter.
