Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu is struggling to get to terms with graft cases and impeachment threats.

He is undoubtedly one of the few governors that are facing graft allegations.

Following Lady Justice Mumbi Ngugi’s directive that all governors facing graft cases should keep off their offices, Waititu hasn’t been able to access his office in the recent past.

The governor must be a sleepless man because the Director of Public Prosecution Noordin Haji has made his gubernatorial role harder to perform.

The governor recently said he plans to launch his own office but the DPP dared him to try and find himself behind bars again.

So, the governor has to carefully calculate his political steps.

This starts from his utterances at political podiums, his posts on social media plus all his political strategies.

He has got to be careful so as not to interfere with the pending corruption case against him.

Even as the governor is struggling to get off the hook in the graft saga, his relationship with the MCAS has been worsening day in day out.

There have been several attempts by the Kiambu MCAS to impeach him.

At the same time; his deputy governor has openly attacked him on several occasions. One does not need a political microscope to notice Waititu’s harsh working environment.
