President Uhuru Kenyatta has assured women of his support before his completes his second and final term in power.
Speaking during the inaugural African Women Leaders Network Inter-Generation Retreat, Uhuru asked women to remain united as they fight for their rights in different sectors.
The commander in chief of the armed forces said that the increased cases of stereotypes against women have continued to affect society in different ways.
He noted that his leadership has put in place different measures to ensure women have reasons to celebrate his governance before his paves way for another President come 2022.
“Outline flagship projects that are aimed at promoting gender-inclusive growth, prevention, and response to gender-based violence and the empowerment and education of girl child,” the President said, as quoted by Capital FM.
He also said that it is unfortunate that cases of discrimination have become rampant in different sectors of the economy, adding that women deserve better treatment just like men.
“We will continue to put robust policy and legal framework and continue to monitor equality and ensure no one is discriminated,” he said.
Uhuru has promised to set more projects to support young women who want to rise to greatness. He has also been asking youths to explore their potential in different areas of life.
