Sonko’s Communication Director Elkana Jacob confirmed the reshuffle but noted that the county boss only changed the duties of some of the CeCs.

"This is not a Cabinet reshuffle but realignment of duties geared towards having better delivery of services to the residents of Nairobi," he said as quoted by The Star.

This is the sixth time the county boss has made changes to his Cabinet as he seeks to deliver on the promises he made to the people of Nairobi when he was elected into office.

Under the new plan, Sonko had handed the Lands Planning and Urban docket to County Executive Member Pauline Kahiga. The former holder of the position, Winfred Kathangu has been moved to the Agriculture docket.

The governor also named Kahiga as the acting Finance CeC following the suspension of Charles Kerich. Environment CeC Vesca Kagongo has been appointed to head the Health docket in an acting capacity.

Sonko retained the rest of the team as follows; Larry Wambua (Devolution), Allan Igambi (Trade), Hitan Majevdia (Transport), Lucia Mulwa (Education) and Newton Munene (ICT and E-Government).

The governor has been on the spotlight over corruption claims. The 10 CeCs from his office were summoned by EACC on Friday.
