In a tweet on Tuesday, Etale confirmed receiving a summon in relations to a Facebook post he made over the concluded Kibra parliamentary by-elections conducted on November 7.

He noted that he has been directed to appear before the commission on Tuesday, December 10, a summon he said he will be honouring.

"I have been summoned to appear before the NCIC on Tuesday 10th December over a Facebook post I made during the Kibra by-election campaign. I will oblige. In God I Trust," said Etale.

Etale becomes the fourth ODM politician to be summoned by the commission over such claims after three others found themselves before the commission in October.

On October 24, NCIC boss Hassan Mohammed said that the commission is looking into evidence implicating Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, Junet Mohammed (Suna East) and Irshad Sumra (Former Embakasi South) in reckless remarks.

"The commission is in receipt of a number of audio and video clips of politicians making what may amount to inflammatory statements," he told The Star.

The alleged remarks were made during the campaigns that preceded the by-election, a race that was won by ODM's Imran Okoth.
