This is as the nation enters the third week since Ruto made the claims, following emergence of a letter allegedly written by a Cabinet Secretary to President Uhuru Kenyatta with the details.

Speaking on Saturday, the political commentator termed the same a shallow political propaganda ahead of Ruto's 2022 presidential bid, which he said will not succeed.

He said that if nobody attempted to eliminate Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader Raila Odinga when he caused a lot of trouble for the government after the 2017 elections, then its laughable to think anyone could plan to murder the DP who is less powerful.

"Raila hii Kenya hakuna mtu mwenye acumen na support kama yake. 2017 alimobilize watu na kama hakuna aliyepanga kumuua na ndiye aliyekuwa threat, mbona Ruto? (No one in Kenya can match Raila's acumen and support. If in 2017 he mobilized people but no one plotted his death, yet he was a threat, why Ruto now?)," he posed.

Weke made the remarks during an interview on Radio Jambo's Mazungumzo Waziwazi show on Saturday morning.

Weke, a former Makadara MP aspirant also termed the entire issue a propaganda which will not be of any help to its sponsors, including the DP, who he said is the main beneficiary.

He termed the arrest of Statehouse Digital Director Dennis Itumbi who doubles up as an ally of Ruto as proof that the entire thing has backfired and is haunting its own creators.

"Hii story ya propaganda eti atauliwa (this propaganda story about his murder) has fallen flat on their faces," he added.
