A Deputy Governor allied to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga-led Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party on Monday paraded elected MPs in public and asked them to rally behind Deputy President William Ruto.

On Monday Joash Maangi paraded South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro, West Mugirango MP Vincent Kemosi, Bonchari MP John Oyioka, Kitutu Masaba MP Shadrack  Mose, Bomachoge Chache MP Alpha Miruka, Joash Nyamoko of North Mugirango and Bobasi MP Innocent Obiri at Rigoma, Kitutu Masaba Constituency in Nyamira County.

Maangi appealed to the lawmakers to throw weight behind DP Ruto ahead of 2022 polls. 

"You have a task to tell the electorates the need to support DP Ruto in 2022 polls. I urge you not to abandon DP Ruto," he said. 

The DG reiterated the need for politicians to stop playing politics based on political parties and tribe. 

He assured DP Ruto full support in his bid to become president in 2022. 

"On behalf of the MPs standing here I wish to confirm that DP Ruto will get full support in 2022," said Maangi. 

 Dr William Ruto graced a fund drive aimed at empowering bodaboda riders in Kitutu Masaba. 

The DP has been making several trips to the vote-rich Nyamira and Kisii counties in search of support ahead of the 2022 general elections.
