Capital FM reports that Justice Onesmus Makau ruled that Nyoro has been given the mandate to discharge the duties of the governor including hiring and firing the cabinet.

A court had earlier blocked Nyoro from changing the cabinet after Governor Ferdinand Waititu was barred from setting foot in office pending the hearing and determination of a graft case levelled against him.

In his defence, through lawyer Kibe Mungai, Nyoro said that the order was given without consultation from both sides.

He also argued that it had become hard for him to discharge his duties because of the lack of cooperation from some of the CECs.

Mungai also argued that the Employment and Labour Relations had no jurisdiction to hear the case.

On Thursday, an anti-corruption court dismissed the application by Ward Reps to be enjoined in Waititu’s graft case.

While delivering his ruling, Milimani Chief Magistrate Lawrence Mugambi rejected their application citing lack of merit

"The averment that the MCAs want to watch over the interests of the majority of Kiambu residents does not hold water," Mugambi said as quoted by Nation
