A section of Kisumu bouncers have expressed uttermost shock and disbelief, following the murder of their six colleagues in Masebula village, Busia County over the weekend.
The bouncers from Nyando, Kisumu County, died after being attacked by irate rwhile on a mission to provide security to Mercy Awuor, following the death of her slain husband Johannes Onyango Okoth.
Okoth was killed by unknown people two weeks ago.
In an interview in Kisumu on Monday, the bouncers under the Kisumu Bouncers’ Association banner said they are not happy with what happened in Busia.
Steven Oduor Onyiko; one of the bouncers, said they have given the police seven days to carry out investigations and bring the culprits to book.
“After seven days, we will carry out our investigations with an aim of ensuring that the suspects are brought to book. We will be happy when police tell us what happened,” he said.
Onyiko called for calm as police carry out investigations.
The bouncers were accompanied by Charles Juma; a former bouncer and now the field coordinator for Kisumu County Woman Representative’s office.
Juma said what they need is the truth about what befell their colleagues.
“We urge the government to come in and support the families of those left behind by the slain bouncers,” he said.
The slain bouncers have since been identified as; William Omondi, Philip Kwacha, Evans Onyango Ochieng, Richard Odero, David Okeyo and Elvis Odoyo.
