Deputy President William will threw his weight behind the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) report, Daily Nation senior journalist Macharia Gaitho has said.
Gaitho made the conclusion after the DP rubbished a story he had written on Saturday Nation insinuating he was in a dilemma over the BBI report, which has the blessings of President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
The DP denied he was having a headache in choosing whether to oppose or back the report, saying he will rally behind the position taken by the President and the Jubilee Party.
"Dilemma? Hapana! No way! Jubilee as a democratic party celebrates diversity of opinion free of hate and focused on transformation for all; for us big or small matters BUT ultimately as initiators of inclusive non-tribal political discourse we will stand behind our Party and Leader," he tweeted.
In a quick rejoinder, Gaitho welcomed the sentiments and noting Ruto did not dismiss the story as fake news.
He concluded the DP was confirming he will back much anticipated recommendations by the task force led by Garrisa Senator Yusuf Haji.
"Welcome my friend William Ruto, all feedback from my devoted readers is treasured. I appreciate that for once you did not dismiss a media report as 'fake news'.
You actually affirm that on BBI you will stand behind your party and leader contrary to assumptions. Keep reading," the veteran journalist posted.
