The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers on Wednesday arrested two prison officers in Naivasha prison accused of killing Simon Nduro, a former inmate at the prison
According to Citizen Digital, the two officers, Constable Obadiah Meriti Lansika alias Masai and Sergeant Dennis Wandati Masibo were arrested by the detectives and they will be charged with murder.
An autopsy done by the Government Pathologist Titus Ngulungu had revealed the deceased body had multiple bruises and blunt force trauma that's suspected to be the cause of his death.
The pathologist also revealed that the prisoner had bruises on his hips, neck, hands and lower of the body that was inflicted by the blunt object
The government pathologist report has however differed with the prison department result that revealed the deceased succumbed to an asthma attack.
According to prisoners who revealed the information to the detectives, the late Simon Nduro was thoroughly beaten by 8 prison warders.
Mary Njeri, the deceased mother condemned the act saying that his son was the family breadwinner before he was imprisoned
“I leave everything to God and it is very painful to first lose your son by being jailed and later being killed by people who were supposed to reform him,” said Njeri.
Before his death, Simon Nduro was serving life imprisonment at Naivasha prison.
