The National Resistance Movement (NRM-K) leader Miguna Miguna has lashed out at the Orange Democratic Movement leader Raila Odinga after being appointed the African Union High Representative for Infrastructural and Development.
Through his tweet on Tuesday, October 23, the controversial lawyer Miguna Miguna attacked Raila over Migingo Island's lack of infrastructure.
“Migingo Island in Migori County, Nyanza, where @RailaOdinga comes from, has been under UGANDA military occupation since 2008. Its residents are abused, abducted, tortured & killed. It has no INFRASTRUCTURE. Yet @RailaOdinga is the "head of Africa's infrastructure?" #SayNoToUjinga.”
The former Prime Minister, who is currently out of the country was appointed as an AU ambassador of infrastructure and political development by AU Chairperson Mousa Faki.
However, this move wasn’t received well by Miguna Miguna who thought Raila didn’t develop the infrastructure at Migingo Island, which is in his home county.
Miguna has also accused Raila Odinga of helping Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in rigging elections in his country only for him to come and take Migingo Island years later.
"In August 2013, 2 years after @RailaOdinga, as the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya, had helped Museveni rig the Ugandan elections in 2010, @KagutaMuseveni helped @UKenyatta and @WilliamsRuto rig the 2013 Kenyan election against @RailaOdinga. #SayNoToUjinga.”
“On December 16, 2010 - two whole years AFTER @KagutaMuseveni had OCCUPIED Migingo Island, in Nyanza, where Raila comes from - @RailaOdinga, as the Prime Minister of Kenya - went to Uganda and CAMPAIGNED for @KagutaMuseveni. #SayNoToUjinga.”
