On Monday, Guyo visited the headquarters of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) to record a statement over the matter.

He asked the DCI to protect him from unknown persons, whom he claims have become a threat to his life.

The MCA told the press at the DCI headquarters hat the persons who beat former Nairobi Central Business District Association chairman Timothy Muriuki were rooting for his ouster from office, adding that unknown persons have been trailing him for days.

He also said that he is a scared man after receiving the threats.

Guyo also said Governor Mike Sonko has been targeting him after he opposed the return of embattled Speaker Beatrice Elachi and said the governor should be held accountable in the event that someone kills him.

"My life is in danger. I am being targeted due to my strong position against Elachi’s return,” he said, as quoted by Daily Nation.

Sonko and Guyo have not been in good terms for weeks.

The Nairobi county boss has been accusing the Majority leader of using underhand tactics to frustrate his government.

Guyo has, however, denied the claims terming them baseless.
