Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i continues to fight criticism from within government, with a section of politicians allied to Deputy President William Ruto accusing him of causing divisions.
Last week, the interior ministry was accused of humiliating Dr Ruto at Bomas of Kenya during the launching of BBI report.
Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei has now come out guns blazing, accusing a section of CSs of causing divisions within Jubilee administration.
Mr Cherargei, a close ally of DP William Ruto slammed Dr Matiang'i, insisting that he cannot lecture them on BBI since 'he can't even win village elder post'.
The youthful legislator further insisted that the Building Bridges Initiative report should be subjected to Parliamentary initiative for implementation.
"I have read BBI and I can conclude that it's a good document. Even if the president told us to understand it, most of the proposals need policies and parliamentary initiative for implementation.
The president banned CSs from politicking. We saw them in Kirinyaga politicking. Those breaking Jubilee as the ministers in President's Cabinet. One of them cannot be even be elected as a village elder in Nyamira. You can't tell us anything because you're not elected," Cherargei said in reference to Matiang'i.
The CS on Friday led a host of MPs in Kirinyaga where they asked the people to support the Building Bridges Initiative report.
He also defended Interior PS Karanja Kibicho, who has also been on the receiving end from a section of leaders allied to the DP William Ruto.
“I take full responsibility for any action by the security team, never touch my PS, don’t blame him for any political problem within and without government,” he said as quoted by Nation.
