Siaya Senator James Orengo has weighed in on the troubles of renowned lawyer Miguna Miguna, an erstwhile NASA stalwart.
Speaking on Punchline program aired on K24 TV, the renowned legislator rejected the notion that the National Super Alliance (NASA) had abandoned the vocal lawyer.
"That is not the case. NASA lawyers went all the way to the Court of Appeal. Many of us have been in exile; Kiraitu Murungi, Koigi wa Wamwere, Makau Mutua," Orengo said.
The senator urged Miguna to keep on exploring all avenues at his disposal to return to Kenya, saying he has every right to be allowed back.
Miguna was unceremoniously deported to Canada after his role in the mock inauguration of veteran opposition and ODM leader Raila Odinga.
Efforts by Odinga at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) to stop his deportation were not successful.
Since his deportation, the lawyer has been spewing vitriol on Raila, accusing him of betrayal and going to bed with the 'oppresors.'
Senator Orengo was part of the star-studded legal team that was fighting to have Miguna allowed back into the country.
The immigration department based its decision to deport the self-declared National Resistance Movement general on the fact that Miguna has dual citizenship.
