Orange Democratic Movement party leader Raila Odinga will on Tuesday return to historic Chandaria Center for a public lecture at the University of Nairobi.
Mr Odinga will be guest of honour during the launching of Prof Anyang Nyong'o's 'Presidential or Parliamentary Democracy in Kenya' which comes amid calls to review the constitution.
On his Twitter, Nyong'o on Monday said his book entails collection of past articles which will give readers an insight on the two forms of governance.
"Presidential or Parliamentary Democracy in Kenya? Choices to Be Made. This is a collection of previously published articles on democracy and governance," he wrote.
University of Nairobi Vice Chancellor Prof Isaac Mbeche confirmed the public lecturer, which comes months after Odinga was disallowed by former VC Mbithi from addressing students.
"We are waiting for the former Prime Minister, Rt. Honourable @RailaOdinga . Kenyans will be more than excited to hear from him. As Kenyans, do we want Presidential or Parliamentary Democracy?" he wrote.
Also accompanying Mr Odinga and Prof Nyong'o will be the famous Young Turks Paul Muite, Gitobu Imanyara, Joe Ager, James Orengo and Mukhisa Kituyi.
Constitutional lawyer and the drafter of the famous Bomas Draft Yashpal Ghai is also expected to attend. It will be Nyong'o's most recent book in as many years.
Currently, ODM party is pushing for parliamentary system of government, which could dominate Raila's public lecture on Tuesday evening.
Kenya adopted pure presidential system in 2010 despite Raila's push for parliamentary system over decades. Mr Odinga taught the Engineering School at UoN in 70s.
