Magaya was admitted to Nairobi Hospital early this year after suffering heart attack. In a tweet recently, he decried dwindling financial fortunes.

In a tweet, which was backed by political scientist Mutahi Ngunyi, Itumbi described Magaya as a loyal ODM member, who does not deserve mistreatment.

"Norman Magaya, knew loyalty. Spin and worked hard. He also ensured politics did not interfere with Friendship. Leta Paybill tusaidie yeye," he said.

"When enemies unite, it means the fight was just a sport. "Norman Magaya" was an ODM Irritant whose cleverness we could not match. We need him healthy for the next duekduel. Where do I send my donation? Wapi paybill Number?" asked Ngunyi.

Junet Mohamed's aide Seth Odongo alias Dikembe Disembe, had accused ODM of neglecting Mr Magaya, despite order by Raila Odinga to have him assisted.

"Some people were saying Mr Kawino (Finance Director) is the problem, or Charles Memba (Accountant); but I reject these insinuations. If the party leader made a pronouncement on Magaya, it is the ED to effect it. If not, that matter goes to the SG," he claimed.

But ODM Executive Director Oduor Ong'wen, in a tweet on Tuesday, denied claims that Mr Magaya has been abandoned by the party, adding that he still receives salary.

"DD this is not true. Norman Magaya gets a monthly stipend from ODM National Secretariat. Equivalent to what he was earning as NASA CEO. It’s important to verify facts," he wrote.
